Many students NEVER finish their dissertations
Life happens, the school year passes by, perhaps an unfortunate experience with a supervisor, and before you know it, you're under pressure and you're stressed...
The Get Back on Track programme offers you a safe space for resolving common dissertation challenges.
In a small group of students, we work methodically to resolve content of master's and doctoral dissertations that most often land students in trouble.
Testimonials from previous students of the Get Back on Track programme
The programme gave me another chance and the structure to regain strength to look forward to the red gown. One-on-one meetings were very helpful. I still look forward to these sessions as they have assisted in directing my ideas in a formalised manner. The groups had good information and the time is sufficient for the sessions. The slides were very helpful and informative. I would refer students to the Get Back on Track programme as I think it can boost them.
Martin
The Get Back on Track Programme has really helped me to get back and continue with my Masters in Education. It focusses on all the main points and enables one to link the various chapters of your dissertation. The weekly group sessions were very informative and helpful. Very useful slides. I make constant reference to them. I've had only one one-on-one meeting so far and it has really assisted me in getting back on track.
Shaun
The programme really brings one on track with new energy to finish the dissertation. The weekly sessions were very informative. The slides were very useful.

Who is the Get Back on Track programme for?
The programme is for masters and doctoral students in the process of doing their dissertations who wish to accelerate their progress.
Whether you’ve been studying for some time or started recently, this programme will empower you with key skills for conquering high-level dissertation challenges.
About the Get Back on Track programme
The programme is limited to 10 master’s or doctoral students at a time.
It runs online a few times a year.
It works like this:
After you’ve signed up, we ask you to send us sections of the first three chapters of your dissertation (Introduction, Literature, and Methodology), or wherever you’ve reached in your work. This enables you to receive individualised guidance in the programme.
Each week you receive weekly content on the essential dissertation issues that we’ll be working through in coming meetings. You prepare the relevant section or chapter for each meeting, applying the principles of the guidance material to your dissertation.
We meet for 1-2 hours weekly online in the group where we discuss the key principles of the section or chapter. The sessions are interactive and you may choose to showcase your work.
We work methodically through the principles of the introduction, literature, and methodology chapters. We also discuss the analysis approach and methods suited to each student’s dissertation.
You may discuss other sections of your dissertation in your one-on-one sessions.
At the end of the three months you will receive one-on-one feedback on your much-improved work.
What an incredible resource you offer to graduate students Merle Werbeloff! Successful thesis or dissertation completion is the goal, and the support and guidance you provide is exceptional! Students are very fortunate to work with you and learn from your expertise!

Here's exactly what you'll get in the Get Back on Track programme
On registration, we ask you to send us key sections of your Introduction, Literature, and Methodology chapters of your dissertation, whatever state they’re in and wherever you’ve reached. We arrange a pre-programme one-on-one meeting with you before the programme begins.
Each week of the programme, you join a group meeting where we work through the following topics:
Weeks 1-2: Formulate clearly defined problem and purpose statements, research objectives, and researchable research questions, ensuring alignment with the knowledge gap. Evaluate your progress.
Weeks 3-4: Perfect a clearly structured introduction chapter with a coherent argument supported by a theoretical/conceptual framework that addresses your research questions. Work with templates and guides to evaluate your progress.
Week 5-6: Examine your literature review, its recency and completeness using Google Scholar and AI tools like Research Rabbit and Elicit to complement your citations. Raise your conceptual writing level based on Bloom’s Taxonomy, from summarising and describing to synthesising and evaluating.
Week 7-8: Perfect your literature review chapter with a clear argument. Ensure you’re telling a structured story including the background, a review of the theoretical/conceptual framework(s), and a sound conclusion. Examine AI editing tools like Trinka.
Week 9-10: Describe your research methodology, study design, unit of observation, unit of analysis, sampling method, instrumentation and measurement procedure, threats to aspects of reliability and validity (quantitative) or dependability and transferability (qualitative).
Week 11-12: Perfect your methodology chapter and describe your analysis methods. Ensure alignment and consistency throughout your dissertation. Use tenses correctly, and study guidelines on writing the abstract. Receive feedback from the group and individualised post-programme feedback.
