Google Scholar Alerts – Your Academic Owl

Imagine having a wise academic owl who keeps you updated with new articles on the key topics of your literature review.

And all this at no cost.

In effect, this is what Google Scholar offers you with the ‘Alerts’ feature. It sends you emails with links to new articles on the topics you specify.

All you need to do is go to Google Scholar and search for your topic. Then click on the Menu – the three little parallel lines in the top left corner next to ‘My Profile’ – or click on the star, ‘My library’ icon at the bottom of your search results. Next, click ‘Alerts’ – the envelope icon. Then, CREATE ALERT.

Once you enter your email address, you’ll receive links to newly published articles on your topics. You can have several alerts at the same time and stop them at any time.

Pretty cool!
